Day 1:  Happy new year! We want to start the new year with you and your pet fit, healthy and most of all happy. So, let’s not only write down our resolutions, but actually do them. We are here to help with our 30 Day Challenge and lots of inspiration for a healthy, fit and happy time together. Take part and share your big and small successes on Instagram.

Day 2:  A sunny start to the Challenge: with a sun salutation! A round of DOGA is today’s challenge. Just roll out your mat, get your pet and you’re ready. Together yoga moves like sun salutation, cobra and rabbit are even more fun. Your dog can practice patience by watching you closely from his bed as you do the sun salutation.

Day 3:  You can train both mentally and physically with your pet. Try it out – with this simple exercise to keep your and your dog’s memory fresh: Take 2 cups. Show him a piece of food and let him eat it out of your hand. Now take a second piece of food and place it on the floor in front of your dog’s eyes. Place one of the two cups over it and move the cups around. Then, let your dog’s nose work and let him find the right cup.

Day 4:  New year, new portions! Try it out: The next time you feed your dog, instead of filling the bowl as usual, just put a small portion into the bowl. Observe what happens and document it by photo or video.

Day 5:  Leave your phone at home or in flight mode and treat you and your pet to a long, refreshing walk outside.  Don’t forget to wrap up warm!

Day 6:  Today treat your pet to a homemade culinary delight. Tuna eggs, for example, are super easy to make and your dog will love it: happy tail wagging is guaranteed.

Ingredients:

1 can of tuna (from sustainable deep sea fishing)

50 g peas (frozen or fresh)

1 tsp olive oil

1 cup of rice (approx. 100 g)

1 egg

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Drain the tuna well and place in an ovenproof dish so that the bottom is completely covered.

Spread peas over the tuna and drizzle some olive oil over it. Carefully crack an egg onto the mixture in the baking dish.

Then bake for about 15-20 minutes until the egg is cooked through.

As a filling side dish, you can cook a cup of rice with it. Allow the dish to cool before eating.

*Please be mindful of dog allergies, and check with your vet if you are concerned about any possible food intolerances.

Day 7:  Quality-Time! Build a play area out of cardboard boxes, which you stack inside each other. Lengthy boxes form caves and passages, strips of newspaper form the entrance and rolls of kitchen paper in the castle additionally inspire your cat’s play instinct.

Day 8:  Ever thought about including your pet when you’re working out?
Today it’s time for some classic squats. Whenever you squat down your pet has to stand on two legs, finish the sequence by giving your dog a high five. This trains your thighs and his sense of balance.

Day 9:  Your dog’s nose can be trained as well. And that’s what’s on the program today. Hide a box of treats in your home and let your dog’s nose search for them. This way he playfully trains his sense of smell and impulse control.

Day 10:  It’s getting cold outside, so why not do something nice indoors. Treat yourself and your dog to a massage session today like a head massage. Sit down in front of your pet and gently touch him or her under his snout. Now place your index and middle finger of the other hand on their forehead above their eyes. Slowly draw circles, sometimes smaller, sometimes larger. Your dog will love it!

Day 11:  You want to relax, but your cat is full of energy? Great, then we have just the right thing for you today. Watch videos with chirping birds together on the internet.

Day 12:  Is your dog simply the best? Then show him. Because today he is being celebrated with a round of applause. Alone or with the whole family. Capture your dog’s reaction with a photo or video. But only if you are sure that your dog will not be afraid of it.

Day 13:  Let your cat decide how many push-ups you do today – with a simple “Which treat do you choose first”-game! Simply number the treats and do the same amount of push ups as treats your cat eats!  But be sensible, because treats should be given in moderation as part of a balanced diet!

Day 14:  Today is hunting play day. The best way is to play with a homemade hunting toy out of old fabric.  Tie a ribbon on to a stick or a tassle on to a cord, and watch your cat’s eyes light up.

Day 15:  Today is cuddle time. Take a quiet moment and enjoy snuggles on the couch together.

Day 16:  Patience needs to be practiced. And that is exactly what today is all about: Put a treat on the bridge of your dog’s nose. He can only take the treat if you allow it. If this is still too difficult, put the treat on one of his paws.

Day 17:  Train your cat’s concentration today. How? Simply fill a tub with water and place empty tea lights on it. Put treats in the tea lights and let your cat get them.

Day 18:  Make today an action-packed one and turn your living room into a dog course. Use bottles to create an obstacle course that your dog can run through. Tunnels made of chairs can be used too. Have fun together!

Day 19:  Keep your cat some company today. Enjoy a moment at the window and watch the hustle and bustle outside. If the weather is nice, go outside together if you have the opportunity.

Day 20:  It might not be the most fun activity, but it will feel really good afterwards: Clean your pet’s favorite toys today.

Day 21:  Planking strengthens the trunk and back muscles. Plank for 6 x 20 seconds. Get your dog to walk underneath you to also strengthen his muscles.

Day 22:  From old to new. Today an old sock becomes a toy mouse for your cat. Put a cover . Then, you’re ready to go. Challenge your little tiger to a wild, little game.

Day 23:  Today it is time to cook for your cat with our delicious recipe for gourmet beef-turkey goulash.

Ingredients:

50 g beef

50 g turkey breast

2 teaspoons oat flakes

some oil

some cat’s milk (lactose reduced milk – available to buy at your local Maxi Zoo store)

Preparation:

Soften oat flakes in milk and stir. Fry beef and liver in a pan with a little oil. Add the softened oat flakes over the roasted meat. Simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes. Let the dish cool down before eating.

Please use cat milk and not cows milk for the recipe and be mindful of possible allergies.

Day 24:  How high can your dog jump? Build a toilet paper wall in your door frame – so that your pet cannot walk past it. Let him jump over a low height at the beginning and build the wall a little higher each time. But please make sure that the surface is not slippery and that your pet safe.

Day 25:  Because it was so enjoyable, there will be another round of DOGA for you and your pet today. This time it’s a relaxed version: In the lotus position, as your pet watches you with crossed paws. Afterwards, you can also integrate a little meditation session – and really chill out.

Day 26: How skilled is your cat? Try it out and build an obstacle course in your hallway with small bottles, and cans. Guide your cat through it. The fewer objects fall over, the better! On your marks, get set, go!

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Day 27: Push-ups of a slightly different kind not only train your upper arm muscles, but also let you bond with your pet – give him a high five after each push-up. Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions each.
Day 28: You’ve almost reached the end of the challenge and deserve a little reward today. So give yourself and your cat an extensive beauty treatment – by brushing her. Do something good for yourself as well. A bath, a face mask, a massage – anything you feel like.

Day 29:  Jumping fit together: with Burpees! Your dog can do an impulse control exercise and watch you jump – or he just jumps with you!

Day 30: Snacks are even more fun when you have to earn them. Fill a cardboard roll with healthy snacks today and seal it with paper. Then let your cat play until they open it. Let’s go! Today is the last day of our 30 day challenge, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we have!
