Decorative fish in the aquarium lead a safe life: they are fed regularly, well looked after and normally don’t have to worry about hostile predators. But sometimes, there are situations in the domestic underwater world where fish must be caught. Nets are an important tool for this and also for removing algae or dirt.

If you keep an eye on your aquarium carefully, you will notice abnormalities quickly. If, for example, a fish is sick, you should take it out of the aquarium and put it into a quarantine tank to treat the fish and avoid infection. • Rinse with clear water and dry thoroughly (after cleaning in a healthy tank).
• Disinfection bath in salt or alcohol solution.

Never let the net stay damp: bacteria or particles can multiply and develop mould on the mesh.

It makes sense to have a selection of different models at hand, depending on the intended use and type of animal to be caught: the smaller the fish, the closer the mesh should be.
