Dog food storage – food stays fresh
If dog food is not stored properly it spoils faster or attracts unwanted organisms. Also the odour of some food smells great to dogs’ but makes people’s eyes water. When travelling with a dog, portable food storage containers are very practical. Keeping dog food in storage that keeps wet and dry food fresh, hygienic and as odourless as possible is recommended for every home.
Food containers for dogs
It happens to most dog owners: when the dog food is opened carelessly the food falls out and the bag can’t be sealed properly again. A practical solution is to decant food into suitable containers immediately. You can choose from a classic food tin with a lid or spout: plastic and stainless steel containers ensure that snacks and dry food remain fresh. If you are taking care of multiple dogs, it can be worth buying a larger food container. These containers have a large capacity, are odour-proof and easy to clean. Weatherproof and tightly closing containers can also be stored outdoors, for example in the shed or garage. If you need to move the bin frequently, it is best to choose a model with wheels.
Refrigerator and food
With wet food, many dog owners have pets that doesn’t eat the full container of food in one sitting. To prevent the rest from spoiling it needs to be put in the refrigerator. But who wants to store dog food right next to milk and vegetables? Practical plastic can lids provide a solution. They are available in various standardised diameters and can be easily pressed onto the opened can. This turns the open can into a storage container. Of course, dog food storage is also an important topic when you are on the go: when travelling, on outings or training it is less about keeping food fresh than transporting dog snacks and treats. Food pouches and cans that are easy to clean and use that you can attach to a belt or carry with you by a handle have proven to be effective here. So the food is always at hand when your dog is hungry.
