Vitamins and minerals are usually given as supplements and are added to the main feed. Depending on the reptile species, the latter are usually fed in the form of live food, frozen food, food plants, wet food and/or pellet food. The frequency of feeding also depends on the individual needs of the reptile species. As a rule, food is fed once or twice a week.
On the one hand, food plants can be a direct part of the terrarium planting and at the same time enrich the ambience. On the other hand, plant food can or must also be added, if necessary. Fruits and vegetables are also suitable depending on the type of reptile. Frozen food is sometimes a good alternative to live food, as frozen food can be easily stored in the freezer. In addition, the risk of injury is reduced as frozen food is naturally less resistant than live food – apart from flour mites. As soon as you know what your pet needs, you can order the appropriate food and provide culinary diversity in the terrarium.
