It is, therefore, a good idea to place a tray filled with cat litter in the cage so that the animals can relieve themselves there.

Even if the cage offers a lot of space: for species-appropriate pet care, ferrets need to be let out regularly, preferably for at least several hours a day. So design your home – or at least the area in which these small carnivores live – in such a way that it is ferret safe.
