Ferrets should always be kept in pairs, because they keep each other wonderfully busy. However, they do need some stimulation to get their energy flowing in the right direction. They need daily exercise and their home should be furnished with hanging tunnels, tubes and other hiding places. Ideally, the cage should have several floors with a variety of toys specially designed for ferrets. In summer, they can easily be housed in the outdoor enclosure. There, too, the animals should have plenty of things to do. Basically, they love to chase everything that moves. So rods with stimuli are an excellent way to keep ferrets busy.
