Have you decided to keep fish or do you already own an aquarium? Whether you want to buy basic equipment, need consumables for the ongoing operation of your underwater biotope or want to expand and optimise your equipment: you will find aquarium accessories, tools and decoration in our fishkeeping shop from well-known manufacturers such as Aqualantis, Eheim, Juwel, MORE FOR FISCH, MultiFit, Fluval and many more.

Of course, the most important thing is the aquarium itself. The range of choices is wide: from tiny twelve-litre nano tanks to large aquariums with a capacity of 450 and more litres, everything is included. Most aquariums are rectangular; there are also designs from triangular to octagonal and models with curved, panoramic front panes. There is a distinction between pure glass aquariums, the panes of which are simply glued with silicone, and models with partial or full frames that have higher impact resistance. An aquarium cabinet base to fit the aquarium is a very sensible addition. This easily copes with the enormous weight of a filled tank with water, flooring and decoration and offers sufficient storage space for other aquarium accessories.

You will need various technical aquarium accessories to transform your aquarium into a functioning ecosystem.

Filters: Filters purify the water from waste products and are primarily the place of colonisation for useful bacteria; they thus contribute to good water quality.
Ventilation: With an air pump, you improve the oxygen supply in the water.
Heating: You keep the water temperature constant with a heating system.
Lighting: Various lighting systems with fluorescent tubes, LEDs or metal halide burners provide for light and photosynthesis in the tank.
CO2 system: A CO2 system is used to improve plant growth. A CO2 system is essential in tanks with many different plants.

Fishkeeping accessories also include products that serve as manual tools for care: a net for handling fish, a thermometer for temperature control, a sediment bell with suction hose for changing water and, if necessary, a spawning box or automatic feeding machine. You need filter media, water treatment systems, water tests, plant fertilisers and feed as consumables. Plant tongs make it easier to garden under water. Finally, there should be decorative materials such as aquarium rear wall, stones, roots and objects as hiding places for the animals. Once you have set up an aquarium for the first time and purchased the necessary aquarium accessories, you can start to develop the pool. Initially, the plants have to be in the tank and the aquarium must be in operation for several weeks until the water values have reached the point where you can add fish.
