Pet owners in Carlow have the perfect excuse to spoil and pamper their pets this weekend thanks to the local Maxi Zoo store which has organised a host of free events to celebrate its birthday.

The fun day out includes a free Pet Health Check, a free group training session with a Dog Training and Behaviour expert, free pet care advice, some great special offers, children’s face painting, plenty of family fun and the obligatory balloons and cutting of the birthday cake.

Pet owners and their pets are welcome to drop by the store at the Four Lakes Retail Park any time this Saturday, March 28th between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m and the first 20 dog owners through the door with their pet during this time will receive a free goodie bag for their pet.

Maxi Zoo’s team of pet experts will also be joined by Rosie Nyhan from Pets First who will offer a free health check, dental exam, ear clean, gland check and nail clip for pets visiting the store.

Dog Training and Behaviour expert Emmaline Duffy Fallon from Citizen Canine Ireland will be on hand from 1 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. to present a free in-store group training session for dogs. Special offers on pet grooming are also available on the day thanks to Joe Mitchell from Dial A Dog Wash.ie with all proceeds going towards the Carlow SPCA.

“The free health check is a great way to ensure that your family pet is in the best of health,” said Alice Cross, Executive Director of Maxi Zoo Ireland.

“We are delighted to celebrate another year in business in Carlow. We enjoy great support from local pet owners and we look forward to meeting them again on Saturday and to helping them to ensure that their pet stays fit and healthy,” she added.

“All of the in-store activities planned for the day are geared towards providing local pet owners with expert advice on how to provide their pet with the best care, nutrition and training,” she said.

“Customers can learn how to manage their dog’s weight, how to groom their dog so that it always looks its best and how to teach their dog a new trick or two,” said Alice.
