Local families will be given a first hand opportunity to meet some of the dogs that the charity is trying to re-home and to find the perfect pet by visiting the Tallaght and Limerick stores this Saturday (May 11th) afternoon.
The in-store event is also intended to raise much needs funds for the charity so that it can continue its good work and to enable Maxi Zoo customers to also make donations of food and pet care products.
“Both Dogs in Distress and Limerick Animal Welfare do a fantastic job to re-home unwanted dogs, and we are hoping that our many customers in Tallaght and Limerick will join us in supporting the charities,” said Alice Cross, Executive Director of Maxi Zoo.
Representatives from the charities will be on hand from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Tallaght and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Limerick to introduce store visitors to a number of the dogs that are currently available for adoption.
Individuals and families interested in adopting and re-homing a dog will also be able to pick up information and to learn more about all of the other dogs available for adoption through the charity.
Maxi Zoo have also organised a host of fun activities throughout the afternoon including face-painting, give-aways, ice-creams and balloons while Tallaght’s FM104 and Limerick’s Live95 will broadcast from outside the stores.
“This is fantastic opportunity for dog lovers to make a real difference to the life of a dog and a local charity that requires every support it can get to maintain the outstanding service that it provides,” said Alice.
“We look forward to find loving homes for dozens of dogs. We are also encouraging Maxi Zoo customers to support the charity with cash donations or to buy and donate food and pet care products on the day,” she added.
