Pet owners and their pets are in for a treat at the Maxi Zoo store in Bray on Saturday, June 14th where a host of free events will take place to celebrate the store’s birthday.

The store at Bray Retail Park is celebrating the occasion by offering a free Pet Health Check to customers who visit the store between 12 a.m. and 6 p.m.. The first twenty dog owners to visit the store with their pet during this time will also receive free goodie bags for their pet.

Maxi Zoo’s team of pet experts will also be joined by Mark McCorry from Blacklion Vets in store from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in providing local pet owners with all they need to know to keep their family pet fit and healthy.

Children will also have the opportunity to meet a baby chicken and guinea pigs thanks to staff member Craig Stray who is bringing his pets to the store and who will provide a fascinating insight into the animals lives and how best to care for them.

Visitors to the store can avail of free nutritional and weight management advice for their dog. Free samples and advice will also provided on how to care for their dog’s teeth.

“The free health check is a great way to ensure that your family pet is in the best of health,” said Alice Cross, Executive Director of Maxi Zoo Ireland.

“All of the in-store activities planned for the day are geared towards providing local pet owners with expert advice on how to provide their pet with the best care, nutrition and training,” she said.

“Customers can learn how to manage their dog’s weight, how to groom their dog so that it always looks its best and how to teach their dog a new trick or two,” said Alice.

Wonder Paws will also be in store from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will conduct some agility demonstrations in addition to offering advice on puppy training. Representatives from the charity Dogs in Distress will also visit the store during the same hours.

Maxi Zoo’s Jennifer Conalty will provide free nail trimming tips and grooming tips and customers can also avail of great discounts on grooming products purchased on the day. Many special offers on other pet products will also be available on the day.

“We are delighted to celebrate another year in business in Bray. We enjoy great support from local pet owners and we look forward to meeting them again on Saturday and to helping them to ensure that their pet stays fit and healthy,” said Alice.
