Moving with rats and mice
A move is always a particular stress situation for people and animals.
You should take care that the move with small animals runs as smoothly as possible.
If a move with animals is on the agenda, at least two new problems also arise: transport and adapting your animals to their new home. Basically put as little stress as possible on your small animal as the pet also senses the additional pressure which is “in the air”. Keep your animal during transport in such a way that it is not in danger.
It is fine to use a small transport box for short trips you should get a spacious transport cage for longer drives to the destination. Also remember sufficient amounts of dry and wet food during the transport. After all, the animal should not have to endure hunger or thirst on top of the stress of the move. In addition, there is a particular risk of exposing the animals to a draft.
