SUBSTRAT PRO is made of spherical sintered quartz. The ball shape allows a high bulk density. This allows the volume in the filter (filter baskets or modules) to be fully utilised.
In addition, the optimised surface of the balls ensures an intensive settlement of important cleaning bacteria. A dense bacterial bed forms.
The high number of bacteria means that nitrite load peaks are also reduced more effectively and the service life of the filter material is extended.
