Scharpie was once used for dressing wounds and is still offered as a nest material for birds. The short cotton fibres are popular with birds, as they are soft and easy to pluck. They can also be safely put in cages, as they are digestible for the animals. With these fibres, birds, hamsters and other small animals can not only line their nests, but also use it for weaving.
